ABSTRACT
The application of tuned mass damper in the field of the civil engineering has focused principally on skyscraper, communication towers or bridges. The present article proposes the use of them in tower cranes for the improvement of dynamical behaviour under daily use loads. We have done simulations of tuned mass dampers (TMD) using a two- dimensional model of a tower crane in order to evaluate the efficiency of these passive vibrations control systems. Key words: tower crane, vibrations, tuned mass damper.
