The "Power-to-Gas" (PtG) system allows to store electrical energy by transforming it into chemical energy in the form of hydrogen or methane. These gases can be injected into the natural gas grid for further distribution and use. This article explains the different technologies related to the PtG system: electrolysis, for the production of hydrogen, and methanation, for the production of methane.
