Metro de Madrid posee, a fecha uno de enero del año 2000, un Parque de 1.322 coches en explotación para el servicio de viajeros. Este Parque se ha incrementado de forma importante en los tíltimos años, pasando por los valores de 1.076, 1.094 y 1.214 a uno de enero de los años 1997, 1998 y 1999 respectivamente, para alcanzar actualmente el valor citado al principio, en una evolución acorde al importante crecimiento de la red en este mismo intervalo temporal.
