RESUMEN

Gracias a la conservación del manual 'De aquae ductu urbis Romae' del cónsul romano Frontinus se conoce con detalle la gestión hidráulica en la antigua Roma. Las formidables infraestructuras precisaban una organización eficaz de las tareas de mantenimiento, inspección y control. El Tratado de Frontinus muestra la similitud entre la problemática de la gestión hidráulica de entonces y la actual en las grandes ciudades.

ABSTRACT

Thanks to the conservation of the 'De aquae ductu urbis Romae' handbook, written by Frontinus, roman consul, we know in depht the hydraulic management in ancient Rome. The formidable infrastructures required an eficient organization for the maintenance, inspection and control tasks. Frontinus´ handbook shows the similarity between the hydraulic management problematic at that time and the present one.
