The dry out, heating up and cooling down of refractory castables is a delicate operation which no necessary attention is paid. The scant publishedtechnical literature about refractory linings has, likewise, very scant studies in depth about the subject. However, the non compliance of a dry out and heating up proper convention may damage in a serious way and even destroy completely both the lining and the unit.
