RESUMEN

La Directiva 94/9/CE, relativa a los aparatos y sistemas de protección para uso en atmósferas potencialmente explosivas, estaba en vigor con período transitorio desde el 23 de marzo de 1994 hasta el 30 de junio de 2003. Es decir, a partir del 1 de julio de 2003 toda la normalización territorial existente sobre estas materias ha quedado derogada y esta Directiva es el único referente y de obligado cumplimiento. El presente artículo expone una serie de comentarios (nunca interpretaciones) con objeto de divulgar y dar publicidad a una norma tan importante, confeccionada con el 'nuevo enfoque' y pretende ayudar a que el lector pueda dirigir, dentro del conjunto de requisitos, sus pasos en el sentido que afecte directamente a sus productos o aplicaciones. Lo anterior viene apoyado por una serie de información complementaria de apoyo para quien desee profundizar en el tema.

ABSTRACT

Directive 94/9/CE, relative to the equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, went into effect since March 23rd of 1994 with transitory period ending on June 30th of 2003. That means that from the first of July all existing territorial standards and technical regulations have been derogated. Now the present Directive is the only one to be in force. This article explains some comments (no interpretation at all) to divulge and help to give publicity to such an important Directive, issued under the the 'new focus'. Main purpose is to guide the reader to follow, within the whole amount of requisites, the main steps to get accurate information related to his or her products or application. Furthermore, the article includes supplementary information to help everybody who wishes to go deep into this matter.
