ABSTRACT:
In February 2004 Adrian Bowyer, at Bath University, began an open initiative called RepRap in order to create an open source rapid prototyping machine, which also could replicate itself. In this paper we will analyze the current state of the RepRap initiative and the technical possibilities of this technology with an engineering point of view, proposing in addition an innovative development that would give it more self-sufficiency
