ABSTRACT:
In this article, it is detailed a general panorama of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), that nowadays play a major role in maintenance management. Their development and incorporation into maintenance has gone through various stages of development, since the introduction of the first computers, to modern computer systems that integrate various Internet technologies: the e-maintenance. Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems are popular tools for optimizing maintenance and decision making, however the organization must consider certain preconditions for the proper use of all advantages offered by these systems. This article intends to be a preliminary guide for the selection, implementation and use of these systems.
