Este estudio analiza los factores críticos que influyen en la adopción de tecnologías IoT en el sector primario, un ámbito con un desarrollo incipiente en transformación digital pese a su importancia económica y ambiental. Utilizando un marco conceptual que clasifica los factores en dimensiones tecnológicas, organizacionales y estratégicas, se identifican impulsores, habilitadores y barreras mediante una revisión de literatura y un estudio de caso múltiple en tres empresas peruanas: acuicultura, transporte de hidrocarburos y agroindustria. Los hallazgos revelan que la eficiencia operativa, el cumplimiento regulatorio y la sostenibilidad son impulsores comunes, aunque su relevancia varía según el contexto productivo. La adopción efectiva depende de habilitadores como la conectividad en zonas remotas, la interoperabilidad, el liderazgo digital y la colaboración con proveedores tecnológicos. Las principales barreras incluyen limitaciones de infraestructura, resistencia cultural al cambio, escasez de talento digital y condiciones operativas complejas. Como resultado, el estudio utiliza un marco conceptual contextualizado y evidencia empírica sobre los factores críticos de adopción, que puede orientar estrategias empresariales y políticas públicas para acelerar la digitalización del sector primario. Se concluye que, intervenciones estratégicas, favorecerán al cierre de las brechas tecnológicas, fortaleciendo la sostenibilidad y competitividad de estas industrias a futuro.
