ABSTRACT
Spanish Royal Decree 1663/2000 on the connection of photovoltaic installations to the low voltage network mentions a differential switch used to increase the security of the direct current network, even though it will not work there. Although a practical equilibrium between real security and legal demands was reached long ago, sometimes difficulties arise, even nowadays. This and other aspects of security in photovoltaic plants are analyzed in this paper.
