The main challenges of industrial production focus on the need to have agile value networks that guarantee efficiency throughout the entire chain, from raw materials to recycling; achieving manufacturing excellence by prioritizing quality and reliability above low added-value sectors; and addressing the human factor challenge, considering the decline in interest in engineering among new generations and the growing demand for multidisciplinary profiles. In addition, industry must fully integrate the principles of the circular economy, reducing environmental impact without losing competitiveness, and embrace digitalization as an immediate challenge, leveraging opportunities offered by smart data management in production systems. In this context, production systems must adapt quickly to the evolution of client sectors, such as machine tools, electric vehicles, aeronautics, space, defense, energy, and engineering, among others.
