According to the database INEGI (National Institute of Geographic Statistics and Informatics), 75 amputations are performed daily in Mexico. In addition, the statistics shown conclude that the production of prostheses does not reach 1,500 per year throughout the country, so there is a manufacturing deficit and only a minority of patients are treated.
