The different environmental objectives defined by the European Commission (EC), as well as the growing energy dependency on external sources, urge a greater diversification in the energy supply in the European Union (EU). In recent years there has been a proliferation of biogas generation plants, a source of renewable energy mainly from the anaerobic digestion of organic matter.
