ABSTRACT
This paper makes comments on the definition of 'alternator' included in the last edition of the Diccionario de la Real Academia Española, and its ubstitute for the next edition, the twenty-third. This definition is compared against the ones other dictionaries provide, which are also discussed.
The characterizing properties of the alternators are obtained by analyzing the alternator's functions and operations, and through them a possible
definition is proposed.
