ABSTRACT: The paper analyzes the performance of the global radiation as a function of environmental variables (temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and diffuse radiation) and their relationship to the time of day in five cases, namely: spring, summer, autumn, winter and an annual survey, for better and efficient use of solar energy in microgrids. This characterization has been made taking into account the third grade spline fit and least squares technique using the application JMP statistical software (version 8.0.2, 2009) taking as a case study information Soria, Spain (2012-2015). The results of these analyzes will provide important information to understand the stochastic aspect of solar radiation, its instability and, in turn, will be useful for their forecast. Keywords: Correlation; Environmental variables; Fit spline; Instability of the solar resource; Least squares.
