Due to the high cost of electricity, many people think in installing a photovoltaic generation system in their homes to reduce electricity bill while favoring the use of renewable energy. Given this trend in favor of photovoltaic production contrasts the scene posed by the government with the publication of an exposure draft to Royal Decree in which, in case of being approved, it is determined that the energy generated and consumed in a house shall pay an additional tax called "toll of support." To analyze the impact of this "toll of support" on the profitability of the facility, it was made an economic study in which every single option that can be proposed in an installation of this type was analyzed (varying the number of panels, the installation of accumulators or grid connection for energy trading). For this, it was measured the energy consumption were taken into a house with a sampling period of a minute, and together with the data register of the solar radiation it was analyzed the energy and cost savings. After obtaining the results of the study it was found how the profitability of facilities with accumulators have an excess of cost that makes it impossible to amortize before their useful life is over, and furthermore, in case you have the support of the grid, it is only interesting if you can get a compensation for the excess of energy generated. In case of the draft to Royal Decree was approved, the inclusion of the toll of suppoert would mean the impossibility of installing any facility of this type, leaving as a last resort for the sector the housing isolated from the network whose only sustainable solution for electricity generation where the implementation of photovoltaic panels.
