ABSTRACTThe technology used for wastewater purification in small municipalities must be appropriate to the technical and economic resources existing in the rural environment, being a robust and self -regulatory system and integrating environmentally into the environment. The intensive secondary treatment of wastewater through biological reactors of rotating biodisks, for small populations, meets these objectives. However, it requires frequent inspection and control tasks. Being facilities without fixed personnel, this control is usually carried out by two operators who move two or three times a week to the plant. In this work, a solution has been sought to eliminate the costs that unnecessary trips suppose in addition to allowing the state of the purification plant to be known at all times. The industry -based solution 4.0 contemplates the design of a communications and control system between the plant and a remote control center. From there, you can know both the physical, chemical and biological parameters of water and the electromechanics of the installation to act accordingly their necessary. To achieve the objectives, different sensors are used both in the inlet and output water that transmit their data to a PLC. According to these input values, the PLC acts on the frequency converter and on the motorized valves, being able to modify the engine turn speed, perform mandatory mandatory mandatory to detach excess biofilm in the bioava. Another stage of the process. Likewise, an HMI interface, the state monitoring system through a VPN, is contemplated, thanks to which the data can be observed and supervised in the remote control center and act from there if necessary. In this way, it is possible to guarantee the quality of the process and reduce the maintenance costs of the bioavious plants, both in the short and long term. Keywords: Supervision, rotary biodiscos, PLC, HMI.
