ABSTRACT
Thermal power energy production from biomass is a good deal to to locally market , every cost production process is determined by the characteristics around production , Canary island biomass lo production is very low level, forcing to import from Iberian peninsula.
The Canary Island's energy potential of biomass is currently one of the lowest in Spain according to a report of IDAE (Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving), As a consequence biomass consume is is not meaningful, due to the lack of exploitation of local resources and geographical expensive provision regarding use of the peninsula.
Canary Islands biomass cost is not profitable to Spanish market, due to higher transportation and logistics cost , raising price till 35%.Energy Yearbook published by the ministry of employment, industry and commerce in 2011, contemplated production potential forest residue biomass, quantified by 108,000 tons per year, would allow produces 360,000 MWh / year, which cover a 30% of the total local consumption.
