ABSTRACT: This article presents a computational tool to support the training of engineers in electrical protections in the analysis of the operation of overcurrent relays in dynamic conditions. The analysis of operation of the overcurrent relays is complex, in comparison with the other principles of protection, because that is not known at the time that the protection should operate as this depends on the developments of the current failure. The main purpose of this article is directed toward the analysis of the operation of the overcurrent relays to different operating conditions using computing resources. The tool developed allows the evaluation of the stages of the design and implementation of relays facilitating analysis of operation before events simulated or real. It also allows the editing of the curves of time conventional and unconventional. Finally, there are some cases of example to illustrate the activities of analyzes that are possible with the tool presented.Key Words: overcurrent relay, dynamic state, graphical programming, training of human resources.
