ABSTRACT:In recent years there has been increased interest in assessing health risks caused by exposure to contaminants in soil, air and water, such as heavy metals or emerging contaminants. This work presents a study of the spatial patterns and associations between the following elements; Sb, As and Pb, which can occur together in different minerals. All of them can have both natural and anthropogenic origin, so it is essential to analyze their correlations and spatial distribution. The elaboration of contingency tables has allowed to verify the influence of lithology on the concentration of these elements in both soil and groundwater. On the other hand, the joint influence of soil and lithology on groundwater has been analyzed using a Linear Correlation Model (CML). The CML result shows a clear and unique influence of the latter on the chemical composition of the groundwater to the considered work scale. Keywords: Pollution, metals, environmental quality, geostatistics, human health
